Gilad Smith

Gilad grew up in Finchley, London, and began his education at the Jewish primary school Wolfson Hillel. He completed his GCSEs with a focus on triple science, computer science, geography, music, and French where he first discovered his passion for mathematics. This enthusiasm led him to study Physics, Maths, Further Maths, and Computer Science at A Level.

He went on to study Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol, a unique course that blends maths, physics, and computer science. Gilad chose this degree because he wanted to maintain his love for mathematics without narrowing himself to a single engineering discipline. He enjoys the creativity and problem-solving required at university level, particularly the abstract and conceptual nature of the subject.

 

Outside of academics, Gilad plays guitar and drums and is a big fan of films, his favourite is Singing in the Rain.

Gilad enjoys working with Suppree Tuition because he loves helping students deepen their understanding of maths and find the same satisfaction in problem-solving that he does.
