CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Independent Contractor Status
•    I acknowledge that I am an independent contractor and not an employee of SUPPREE TUITION.
•    While tutors may be referred to as "staff" in communication with parents, this designation is for convenience only and does not imply employment status.
•    As an independent contractor, I am fully responsible for my own tax obligations, national insurance contributions, and any other legal or financial responsibilities associated with self-employment.
•    SUPPREE TUITION holds no legal liability for my actions, and I understand that any allegations, claims, or lawsuits brought against SUPPREE TUITION as a result of my conduct will be my sole responsibility and will be passed on to me accordingly.

2. Professional Conduct and Community Ethos
•    SUPPREE TUITION mainly operates within the Jewish community and upholds Jewish values, cultural sensitivity, and respect for Jewish identity.
•    Any instance of antisemitism, discrimination, or disrespect towards Jewish traditions, values, or beliefs alongside general racism or discrimination will be taken extremely seriously and is likely to result in the immediate termination of my contract.
•    SUPPREE TUITION supports a respectful and inclusive environment regarding Jewish heritage and attitudes towards Israel. Tutors are expected to refrain from expressing anti-Israel or anti-Zionist views during lessons, as this does not reflect the ethos of the organisation.
•    Discussions or expressions of political opinions that contradict the values of SUPPREE TUITION, including those related to Israel, are not appropriate in a tutoring setting and may also result in contract termination.
 
3. Communication
•    I will keep all student communication limited to email or the Google Classroom 'Stream' unless explicitly discussed and approved by J. SUPPREE.

4. Lesson Responsibilities
•    I will assign recommended tasks after each lesson to support student learning.
•    I will mark and provide feedback on student work in a timely manner.

5. Collaboration
•    I will work cooperatively and professionally with other staff when required.

6. Notice Period
•    If I intend to stop tutoring, I will provide a minimum of three weeks written notice to J. SUPPREE.

7. Payment Obligations
•    For every lesson I teach, I will pay £7 to J. SUPPREE.
•    I will make this payment on a weekly basis.

8. Confidentiality and Resource Protection
•    I will not share any SUPPREE TUITION resources with individuals outside the organisation, including tutors and tutees.
•    If a tutee refers other students to me for tuition, I will direct them to SUPPREE TUITION for formal registration.
•    I understand that failure to do so may result in my dismissal.

9. Departure from SUPPREE TUITION
•    Upon leaving SUPPREE TUITION, I will delete all resources from my personal computer and will not retain, use, or distribute any proprietary materials.

10. Liability and Indemnity
•    I acknowledge that SUPPREE TUITION is not responsible for any losses, damages, or claims arising from my tutoring services. I accept full responsibility for my actions and their consequences.
•    I agree to indemnify and hold harmless SUPPREE TUITION from any legal claims, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) that arise due to my conduct, negligence, or failure to comply with this Code of Conduct.

11. Data Protection and Confidentiality
•    I will ensure that any personal data I collect, store, or process regarding tutees is handled securely and in compliance with data protection laws.
•    I will not disclose any personal, academic, or contact information about students to third parties without explicit permission from J. SUPPREE.

12. Safeguarding and Child Protection
•    I will always maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students and will not engage in any personal or inappropriate communication with them.
•    I understand that any allegations of misconduct related to safeguarding will be taken seriously and may result in immediate termination of my contract.
•    If I suspect any safeguarding concerns regarding a tutee, I will report them directly to J. SUPPREE.

13. Termination Clause
•    SUPPREE TUITION reserves the right to terminate my contract at any time if I fail to comply with this Code of Conduct, engage in misconduct, or act in a way that could damage the reputation of SUPPREE TUITION.
•    Any outstanding payments owed to SUPPREE TUITION must be settled upon termination.
 
By signing, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and will comply with this Code of Conduct.
